After imago Dei

imago Dei: AUTHENTICITY has come to a close. I walked into the sanctuary this morning and was overwhelmed by the darkness and the silence. It was as though the room, once teeming with people and voices and music, had stopped breathing.

So many friends were met and made, so many reunited from across great distances, so many relationships built. But that was secondary to what was accomplished this weekend.

Jason challenged us to demolish the invisible “fourth wall” that we place between us and God, and us and others. David questioned what we should be saying from our personal “stage.” Pravash reminded us that our identity is found only in our relationship with our Father. Jamin and his team led us into the presence of God in worship each day, and he additionally spoke on how we need to honor God in our prayer life. Pastor Kathy walloped us with a word on holiness. And Chris, Nic, and Melanie each brought a measure of professionalism and expertise to their sessions on music and dance in worship.

It’s almost too much. Almost too good. I’m astounded that we should have so many amazing speakers, so many enthusiastic attendees, that Jason was able to bring the vision for all of this to life – that God would bless our time together so immensely and that – honestly – so many lives would be changed (I had several “aha” moments myself).

If you couldn’t make it this time, sure, you can listen to the sessions online (and I highly recommend you doing so). But it’s not the same. Make plans to come next year. We love doing this. And we’d love to have you join us.

Until then, a few words of advice from our speakers. Live authentically. Worship with a pure heart. Honor God and seek holiness in all that you do. Break the fourth wall.

See you next year!
